Deep Detroit 11

Movement Electronic Music Festival

This year is quite special bringin together 3 honchos of the most influential homegrown labels of the last 30years
Kai Alce (NDATL)
Nick Holder (DNH)
Brett Dancer (Trackmode)

Kai Alcé. Perhaps it’s a combination of his Haitian roots, his youth spent in St. Croix, and his New York City upbringing. It is evident when he steps behind the turntables or CDJs, where he is at once clearly comfortable and believe it or not, just a tad bit nervous. After more than 20 years in the business, yes, “The Kaizer” still gets butterflies. That’s probably what makes Kai Alce (pronounced al-SAY) such a force: He doesn’t settle down, blend in or go along.

Brett Dancer is deep house community's best kept secret artist! THE man behind the awesome Trackmode label! He is in the same league as Moodymann, Mike Huckaby, Theo Parrish, Glenn Underground, Chez Damier, Pepe Bradock and so on! He is elusive! He is dope!

Nick Holder is a DJ & producer from Toronto, Canada and the owner of DNH Records. One of the most respected producers in the history of underground house music, Holder’s recordings span a sound range from deep disco vibes, to minimal Chicago-style house. Some of his early influences came from the late 80’s when he discovered the burgeoning Detroit techno scene only a few hours away from his home in Toronto.
